Our History
When a fire devastated the MaxYield Cooperative lumberyard in September of 2012, MaxYield Cooperative decided not to rebuild. Instead, they worked with Adam and Denise Upmeyer over the next few months to transition the business. With the help of many friends, relatives, and business planners, Adam and Denise were able to open Garner Lumber and Supply Co. on July 1st, 2013 and started a new era of the lumber business in Garner, Iowa.
When the doors first opened there were 4 full time employees, 1 part time employee, one forklift, a pickup and gooseneck trailer for delivery, and one warehouse. Over time, the incredible local support has allowed us to add 2 more full time employees, 2 seasonal employees, a flatbed delivery truck with capabilities to dump material, an additional forklift, a large truck with a mounted forklift for jobsite delivery, an enclosed trailer for poor weather delivery, a shop for pallet assembly and an additional warehouse.
